Back in September, we received notification that there would be an increase in some oils that we stock from an EU based supplier would see a price increase as a consequence of Brexit. We decided to absorb the cost increase until the end of 2021, and new pricing would come into effect as of the 3rd of January 2022.
Here is a quick update with the FAQs for you the check out. Transparency has always been a top priority, so expect the answers to be somewhat technical at times.
Q. 1) If you import from within the EU, what has Brexit got to do with the price increase?
A. 1) Ancient Wisdom, as a company, started off in the UK, and then branched out. We import from their EU branches, however the UK hub remains the largest one. Part of the UK hub houses production - so for the EU branches to stock the oils that have been created in the UK, there has been an increase in cost. As a consequence, they have had to also increase the pricing for their clients. This means that on some oils - the ones with the highest price increase specifically, they became more expensive to buy wholesale than what we sold them for in the past, retail.
Q. 2) How many oils will be impacted price wise?
A. 2) 24 Essential Oils out of the 74 we currently stock, and 2 Carrier Oils out of the 13 we currently stock.
Q. 3) What are the oils impacted, and what will their new price be?
A.3) Below is the full list highlighting the oils, their old prices, and the new prices. As you will see, there is a variety of small and big price differences. As small or as big a price increase it may be, it is the lowest we could make it for it to still make sense to stock these oils.

Q.5) How big are the oils you stock?
A.5) All essential oils and blends are 10ml in size, whereas carrier oils are 100ml in size.
Q.6) What if I need a larger size?
A.6) Custom orders have always been on the table - so that has not changed. Essential oils come in 50ml or 0.5kg sizes, and Carrier Oils in 1 litre sizes as well, but we don't keep a stock of those. Get in touch and we'll be able to check stock availability and work out the pricing for you.
